Tada Never Falls in Love is a romantic comedy involving the composed Mitsuyoshi Tada befriending a foreign girl named Teresa Wagner, with a romance gradually building up between them throughout the show's run with Tada coming to realize his feelings and the show focusing on the varying relationships developing with his friends in their school photography club. The first half of the series explores the everyday life of Tada and his friends through their photography club and helping run his grandfather's cafe. It looked like the anime was trying to make a point of Tada coming to realize his budding feelings for Teresa as each of the relationships experienced by those close to him involve unrequited love in varying forms and reminding Tada not to fall victim to a similar experience. The series devotes a good amount of fleshing out on Tada's character to have him come to this realization as his closeness to Teresa deepens, though the other character relationships do get shafted in any meaningful developments. Comedy in the series comes from the eccentric quirks of the characters which were more misses than hits for me, though the antics of the Tada family cat and the Duke Togo lookalike seen at points throughout the series gave me a chuckle. In short, Tada Never Falls in Love is an okay rom-com involving its titular character coming to gradually realize the feelings of love he feels for Teresa throughout the show's 13-episode run. It has its issues with comedy and developing most of its other relationships. But it has a bit more meat to its storytelling on the surface and I'd at least recommend watching it at least once.

Unevaluated Stretch [series:3529#628]
(One episode watched):

I didn't mind the slightly wacky foreigner girl, but the stereotypical personalities of other characters in this show vaguely annoyed me--like the high strung girl who belts anyone who irritates her (though the acrobatics performed by the guy she hit did make me laugh). Anyway, Teresa definitely has a secret; is she a princess or something? If that's the critical conflict of this show, I'm not impressed. Also predictable and stereotypical was the 'person-I-met-by-chance-yesterday-turns-up-as-a-transfer-student-in-my-class-today' bit. In general, my impression was that this show could have been better and could have been worse. The plot seems simplistic and the jokes are unremarkable, but that's pretty normal nowadays. Perhaps if this were a season with meager pickings for new anime I would watch it; but since there are more than enough fun shows this time around, I think I won't.
