Battle Spirits Ryuko no Ken

This one-shot adaptation of yet another 90s fighting video game is a slight step-up from most others of its ilk in the fact it doesn't take itself seriously as our two leads find themselves fumbling into a diamond heist committed by a criminal ring. Still, the series suffers from many of the typical trademarks of a bad anime adaptation of a video game series with subpar animation and combat scenes and the majority of characters existing only to pander to fans recognizing them from the game. There isn't much plot to this OVA beyond Ryo and Robert learning more details on the diamond heist and having to rescue Ryo's sister later on. Still, there's too little in this quickie OVA to come back for seconds.
