Oyasan wa Shishunki!
(~Six episodes watched):
I don't read the cartoons in my local newspaper because they are seldom LOL funny; and anime based off of 4-koma (frame) cartoons in Japan are usually the same. Here's a show, which, if you thought about it, you could say that yes, the gags here feel like something you would read in a paper rather than anything outstanding. The jokes are pretty unmemorable, and when a new episode comes along I have largely forgotten what happened in the last one--not to mention what the stories behind each of these characters, which were revealed way back at the beginning, are. It seems like that was a long time ago, even though come to think of it I've only watched three episodes so far. Yet I did watch the show for a while, since five minutes or so isn't a major sacrifice of time and effort. It just has the usual problem: not terribly funny, and no interesting story to pick up the slack. Eventually the people who produced my preferred fansubs for this show seemed to lose interest in it, and I didn't like it enough to go looking for it elsewhere.
