Invertia was a meteor storm that caused an unprecedented disaster during the 20th century. Because of this disaster, numerous cities around the world were destroyed. However, within the meteor, an unknown element called mana was discovered. It allowed human technology to make rapid strides giving rise to a new species of super-powered humans, the Star Pulse Generation (Genestella). The Festas (Star Warrior Festivals) host battles between Genestella at a city of six academies called “Rikka,” also commonly known as “Asterisk.” Scholarship student Ayato Amagiri transferred into Seidōkan Academy in order to fulfill his own wish, swearing he too will fight in this city.

(Half of one episode watched):

Any series which begins with a guy figuring he'll casually enter a girl's room without knocking on the door has pretty much told us everything we need to know about whether it will be worth watching. Starting off with a pantsu episode is like admitting that this will be an unambitious show which will rely on juvenile urges rather than quality storytelling to attract its viewers. And so it was. This show was feeling pretty shallow and uninteresting right from the start. The animation was unremarkable, and so was the premise. Another 'dueling high school' show, basically. I hung on until an 'Oops, I fell on you and groped your breasts' moment came along. This seems like a thoroughly unoriginal, stereotypical, predictable, mass-produced series with 2D characters. With things as banal as they are, I could not care less about this 'Genestella' business, since that's clearly going to be little more than an excuse for the fanservice. When the character 'Claudia' appears, the camera angle starts on her buxom chest, then pans to her face, like an afterthought. I wasn't sure if the keyword 'Comedy' was appropriate, because I don't think I laughed once. Half an episode was more than enough to know that this show will be going nowhere. And apparently it got a second season! Why take any chances when you already know what the formula for a successful show is?
