So pretty much, Celestial Method is AnoHana with its premise yet involves an alien girl and reuniting the friends to make a wish? Unlike the emotional storytelling and rich character depth that AnoHana provided in exploring the issues faced by Jintan and his friends, Celestial Method is more frustrating and sloppy with its character and story development as a few of the major characters act hostile toward the returning Nonoka for reasons the series doesn't make clear for later episodes or the reasons in question seeming weak, Noel contributing little to the series developments beyond being moe bait for many episodes and the series mostly dabbling into slice-of-life developments until later episodes where its attempt at an emotional ending is sloppy and a cop-out in execution. Pretty much, Celestial Method looks like a flawed attempt at AnoHana and is mostly forgettable fare.

Unevaluated Stretch [series:2957#628]
(Half of one episode watched):

Bubbly cute girls who tend to make noises (like Haa-eh!) rather than use words set off an alarm within my head when I'm watching the first episode of a new anime. Likewise, when people are so dim that they can't see things that would startle a real human (like a strange girl sitting alongside your bed when you wake up in the morning), that doesn't portend a very enjoyable show. When people trip over something but rather than falling flat somehow become lighter than air and hurtle upwards and forward--that contempt for the basic laws of physics suggests casual, half-assed animation. If I were to summarize Sora no Method with one word, that word would be 'boring'. In fact, the first time I started watching it I barely got beyond the OP sequence before I decided that I couldn't endure this and switched to the premiere episode of another anime. The one chance this show had to summon some interest from me was with the odd, UFO/jellyfish like thing hovering over the town where the story takes place. WTF is that? After struggling through the first half of the episode, I fast-forwarded ahead in hopes of there being a scene which might explain the thing. I'm not going to sit through this painfully boring stuff if I don't get at least some semblance of an explanation. But it seems to be linked to a 'wish' make by five extremely boring characters, so that means the explanation will be boring too, and I don't care anymore. I hate waste, and I am confident that it would be a total waste to devote my precious time to this show.
