Every person has his or her own little world. Among the 34 bustling students of classroom 2-1, there are many such worlds. Akio Honjō's world — my world — is filled with passionate talk about last night's anime with Yoshida, Watanabe, and other friends. It's an fun, comfortable place…. But, I always wonder. Wonder about the world of Juri Makina, smiling and surrounded by gorgeous friends on the other side of the classroom. One day, I enter her world. But it's not as simple as it sounds.

This animated short features our male lead Akio becoming curious of a piano piece composed by popular girl Juri, which leads him to interact with a world of fantasy that she dreamed about in the past. While seemingly distrustful of Akio at first for bringing up the piano piece, Juri slowly comes to connect with Akio due to appreciating the music and the world it creates within their dreams. Despite its rather short length, Harmonie is able to have enough time to develop Akio and Juri's characters where we come to learn of their characters and why Juri is initially hesitant at opening herself up to Akio about her fantasy world. It would seem the movie was expressing a moral in that it is okay to embrace and try understanding one's inner world as Juri is shown to have a past where she got ostracized by others for talking about what she dreamed about. The short is nicely animated, having clean details and vivid color in the designs of its characters and settings. The facial designs of characters are drawn with a more realistic appearance in mind and the short regularly features fluid animation which is best shown in the movement of several groups of students in Akio's class and Juri's fantasy world that Akio dreams about. Overall, Harmonie makes for a solid and decent time-killer with what it has to tell with Akio and Juri's bond, effectively developing their connection within a 25-minute length run.
