If ever there was a title that showed the absolute worst you can expect of an anime adaptation of a video game like Tekken, Gowcaizer offers up a nice sampling of it. It offers the typical issues you can expect of such an adaptation with subpar animation, trying to cram as many characters from the video game as possible with little to no time to offer quality depth, rushed pacing, characters looking silly for calling out their attacks from the video game and a failed effort at trying to offer a quality plot thanks to little focus on its major elements and any meaningful themes it dumps on us. In other words, the title's makers are more intent on promoting Gowcaizer's source material than offering a quality plot to latch folks on. The English dub by Central Park Media is also just as bad with flat emotional delivery of lines and some awkward line delivery brought about from the distributor's script.

But what makes this particular dud stick out is the ridiculous look of the character designs brought about through Gowcaizer's director, Masami Ohbari, an animator infamous for his emphasis on fan service with whatever he is involved in. Characters appear anatomically incorrect in certain areas of their designs, there's large emphasis on getting as much T&A and scantily-clad shots of the female cast members as possible and the clothing designs worn by characters are quite over-the-top and will even have you questioning the sexuality of some of the male leads with what they wear. And also be warned that this series contains a pair of siblings in an incestuous relationship with one another that the series tries to pass off as something tragic, yet is more awkward and revolting due to the title's lack of meaningful character depth.

Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer is no different from other 90s OVA adaptations of video games that are made more for makers to get a quick buck off the fans of the title than making any effort at offering quality plotting. Unless you are watching this to laugh at how horrible it is, avoid Gowcaizer at all costs.
