The well endowed, cute, cheerful Sato Sayuri is also a bit naive, but don't tell her I said that, because she's also a ninja. She deals with situations when guests get unruly, and is a serious ass-kicker. You might say she's the hotel's bouncer. Thus we have a sexy and naïve girl who is in fact extremely dangerous to fool with. The hotel seems to be a conventional one, not a love hotel. The odd premise and modestly funny jokes pleased me and left me wanting more. It's hard for a show with three or four minute episodes to do much more than crack a joke or two, but Sparrow's Hotel has a touch of novelty to it. I just wish that at least an elementary long-term plot could be worked in; like Sato becoming a closer friend to her co-workers or something like that. Oddly, the art style changes at the halfway point, as if a different crew animated the second half of the show. My favorite line (Sato is asked what her strong points are): "My large breasts... and assassination!" Last updated Tuesday, June 25 2013. Created Wednesday, May 01 2013. |
