Raised by his father in the mountains, Teppei is a wild energetic boy: tough as weeds and free as a bird. But when he turned sixteen, he is compelled to enroll in high school. Having never attended any form of school, his eccentric behavior and lack of understanding is a constant source of troubles, but he is soon recognized for his talent in sports-especially in Kendo (the Japanese swordplay art) - and becomes the school’s kendo hero.
Based on the manga by CHIBA Tetsuya, also well known for other shounen sports stories like Ashita no Joe (boxing) and Ashita Tenki ni Nare! (golf).
