Trigun: Badlands Rumble
A decent trip of nostalgia, Badlands Rumble brings back Vash, Wolfwood, Meryl and Millie for a movie spinoff where the four cross paths to deal with a robber's plot of revenge against one of his former cohorts. The movie retains the decent mix of comedy, action and drama from the 1998 TV series of Trigun. Vash still fakes being a dunce to hide his true identity and holding onto his oath to never take a life. Meryl and Millie wind up meeting with Vash with Millie paying no mind and Merle exasperated at Vash's antics. You can even expect doughnuts and cameos from Kuroneko-sama. All this comes does come with updated visuals with gun fights being more fluid in movement, smoother looking character designs, color being a bit brighter and use of CG animation for camera angles and some of the vehicles driven in the movie. While the plot to the movie is self-contained, the movie does give you enough sense of the motives and justifications of the major characters exclusive to this movie (mainly Amelia and Gasback). However, it doesn't really offer up anything new concerning the world of Trigun and the movie requires you to have seen some episodes of the original series to be familiar with the four characters in the series. Otherwise, Trigun: Badlands Rumble does make for a decent watch for fans of the original series.
