Aegis of Uruk in that it actually has some rather serious developments that make it a bit more engaging to watch. While the show's light-hearted comedy from Aegis makes its appearance at points in Sword of Uruk's earlier episodes, it gets less focus as episodes progress when the plot gradually builds up with the issues facing Gilgamesh and the events affecting the Tower of Fantasy as Jil and his party climb up it, leading to some shocking revelations about what has affected the King and what the true nature of the Tower of Druaga really is. The characters are still rather archetypal and don't have much in the way of dimension for the most part, but the increasing stakes of the plot still make it better to see compared to the first season and its rather typical medieval fantasy-style plot. In spite of this title's better quality though, I would suggest going through Aegis of Uruk before tackling this series since you'll otherwise be lost over the premise and major characters seen throughout both seasons.
