Getting into this one, I had a funny feeling that I wasn't going to like it. It just didn't look like my type of anime.... but I gave it a shot anyway. I should have gone with my gut instinct.

Art, Animation and Character Designs
Art and animation was average. Nothing special really. However.... The character designs were too loli for me. Not loli in a dirty sense, but rather child-like illustrated or maybe even "chibi". Because these characters (all) were done in this way, I couldn't take any of the characters serious. There wasn't a single one that caught my interest..... well, I can't say that completely. Shinkurado and Miyabi (the demon and god) were somewhat decent and okay looking.

Music
The opening theme song was just horid. It was just super uber (pronounced as 'oober'), ungoldy moe........ so much so that it actually sickened me. Imagine when you eat sooooo much that just thinking about food would make you want to puke. Ya, it's sorta like that.

Series and Episode Stories
Hmmmm. Nope. Didn't like it at all. First off, the whole thing of using "toy" figurines in place of a "censored" or silly scene just didn't do it for me. I found it quite annoying. This whole anime is suppose to be super cute... but for the life of me, I couldn't find anything cute about it. Frankly the cuteness was waaaaaay overboard and actually "took away" from the anime. There's plenty of ecchi moments but none that were "memorable". There was plenty of slap-stick humor too but I found none of it funny. In fact, I don't think I even cracked a slight smile. Now that I got all the gripes about it out of the way, here's what I thought was good...... or rather what could have been good; the plot. Darn it! The plot could have been a good one... I mean, with demons, gods and magic users and trying to keep the balance between them. But, the way they presented it just made it impossible to enjoy.

Overall, watch (lowest possible watch) and even then feel free to skip a few episodes.

Unevaluated chibi [series:1900#2380]
Very silly with lots of implied perversions -- but the characters are so kawaii you can't take it seriously. Fansubs seem to be lagging, so I hope the show doesn't get dropped, it looks like one of the more entertaining ones of the season. Just don't expect any of it to make sense.

(All episodes watched):

As I watched the first episode, the thoughts which came to mind were that the OP sequence was spirited and encouraging. People getting beaten up, on the other hand, isn't funny at all. The Magical Academy premise seems weak to me; a number of the new fall series have so much in common that I'm having a hard time remembering which is which. Sort of like somebody writing a novel called Perry Hotter. There's lots of mayhem and destruction, but it didn't seem outstandingly original or funny. It's OK, I guess, and I'm modestly curious what will happen next.

I decided to download the episodes but save them for later, in part because there were so many good shows during the Fall 08 season. Now that I've begun viewing them again, I'm glad I saved at least one good show for later. Macademi Wasshoi strikes me as funny though not brilliant. A lot of jokes go nowhere, but some (usually the raunchy ones) are good.

I was definitely enjoying this show more than I had done the first time. It seems to be a parody of otakuism to a large extent, and also of numerous anime/manga/videogame sub-genres. There's everything from a mention of "tentacle rape" to a ripoff of the Mission Impossible theme song. However, I wish there was more of a discenable longterm plot to the show, rather than just lots of little jokes. A fair number of the jokes are funny to be sure, but I think being in a state of flux and confusion makes it more difficult to enjoy them. Perhaps one's mind must ask itself "this is funny because..." each time a joke appears, since the foundation which you're standing on is continually shifting. This is a problem with lots of shows, not just this one, and not a disaster. Actually, a serious, multi-episode problem emerges at the end of episode ten.

An episode of this series features one of the most flamingly gay anime characters ever, and even though I like to think of myself as being open-minded, I couldn't help feeling somewhat nauseated. On the other hand, Tricia falling in love in episode ten was rather thoughtful and nice.

Macademi Wasshoi turned out to be way better than I had expected. The touching climax in episode 11 made it clear that it can be both funny in a goofy way and movingly thoughtful as well. Then the tactic of reverting to comedy for the final episode, to end on a high note, was employed. This was fun; to think that I originally shelved this show and watched Kemeko DX instead!

Analysis : All 12 Fansubs watched.

JC Was right..... HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Looks like a harem builder with magical girls who want to marry the main character. It's a less serious Maburaho and is my current #1 want to watch series right now.

After 9 episodes : HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA. What a whacked show. I love how for some censoring when they are naked, their skin becomes the color gray.

It's a buy, that's all I have time to say right now. HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Rent Jan-Chan [series:1900#967]
OMG .... giggles galore!!

Tuck your common sense in your back pocket, toss your reason in the dirty laundry hamper and put your brain in park. This series is seriously wacked!!! Think Negima!? on steroids, with a two-fisted dash of Excel Weirdness and PaniPoni insanity just to spice things up. This is all about serious plagiarism of so many other series, but since it being played as comedy and parody, it just comes off as extremely weird, hyper and funny. As I mentioned - Serious Giggles ...

Let me try to mention some of the various topics that are parodied in this series –

Loli-cosplay, cat girls, otaku behavior, overdone mecha action, magic girl, robot love, manic vampires, unrequited love, magic school teachers with cosplay fetishes, Shota android teachers in charge of school discipline, insane manga artists, battery operated toys, deamons and gods, bondage, underwear modeling, harem girl cat fights, improper mixed hot spring behavior, seduction techniques, anthropomorphism, love rockets in flight, ↗meganekko girls, baka behavior, boke behavior, role-playing adventure games …and on .. and on….

And lets not forget an angelic parody of Hard Gay -

Forget the TV broadcast version of this series. Try to find the uncensored DVD release, which is more ecchi, provocative and funny. If you can accept that this series tries to be an over-the-top parody of all types of anime, then this is a rippingly funny treat
