Being a recap episode, I really can't give this a high mark. After all, it can only touch the highlights of the series to compress 51-episodes into 55-minutes. Still, if you haven't seen the series but for some reason wanted to watch the movie, this would give you plenty of background information to allow you to better appreciate the movie. There is a bit of new material in the OAV. Al transmuting Ed into the armor is new. There is new dialog between a few characters, but it has been a while since I saw the TV series, so I can't tell the extent of this change. Still, watching this did make me want to break out FUNimation's excellent DVD's, so that's something I suppose.
