AIR GEAR
Rent Microtechnology has created self-powered roller blades that allow a rider to rip along at blistering speeds, roar up walls and fly to incredible heights. And now AIR TECK (A-T) has become the new rage with all of the gangs. Ikki got the dickens kicked out of him by a roller-blade gang and the four sisters that he is staying with are not going to allow him to forget it. Of the four sisters, it falls upon fourteen-year-old Ringo to be responsible for looking after their trouble-some ‘adopted’ little brother whom they have nicknamed ‘baby-face’. When Ikki finds out that the girls are part of an A-T gang called the ‘sleeping forest’, he borrows one of their skates and rides off into the night vowing to learn to ride . A chance encounter introduces him to a cute roller-blade girl. Ikki follows her to a Stormrider (AT gang) gathering and learns that she is called Simca. Simca really seems to take a fancy for him (or perhaps she really enjoys teasing him), but when his sisters (most specifically Ringo) find out, they are not happy with Ikki’s new friend.

Akagi
Rent On a cold and stormy night, Shigeru Akagi crawled out of the ocean, stumbled into a dingy waterfront Mahjong parlor and into a rough Mahjong game. Nangu was heavily in debt and had been offered a chance to gamble away his debts by the yakusa. And if he did not win, they had made sure that his life insurance policy would more than cover what he owed them. That evening’s tiles had not been kind to Nangu and with nothing left to loose, he decided to take a chance and let the thirteen-year-old Akagi play in his place. The events of that evening are still quietly spoken about and of how a rank-beginner beat the yakusa rep (or professional) player. It was that night that the legend of Akagi - the genius or monster of the Mahjong game - was born.

Ao Ashi
Unevaluated Junior high school student Ashito Aoi is a virtual one-man soccer team. All he needs is for fellow players to kick the ball to him, and a goal is almost certain. But, while not obnoxious, he's rather fiery and full of himself. Recruiter Fukuda Tatsuya wonders whether such a player would work as part of a professional team.
