Having watched the first eight episodes; I can only share that while this series does appear to be very dated (both in the quality of the story and style of animation), but it does manage to spin an interesting sports-based story of the struggles of Oka - as she finds her confidence and ability to make a mark on her high school's tennis team. While I think that Prince of Tennis might tell a more exciting, interesting and better tennis story , “Aim for the Ace” still manages to spin a very charming and inspiring tale with a strong female lead character having to overcome a number of personal and petty (or vindictive) challenges. While I will not rate this a “buy”, I feel that I didn't waste my time watching this rater dated and (perhaps) simplistic sports anime tale. Last updated Wednesday, November 18 2009.
