This 2-part film is about a super-soldier named Geist who knows nothing but death, and was imprisoned for being too dangerous. Now he is released onto Earth amidst a cataclysmic war between humanity's 2 major factions. Geist lives to fight and does damage quickly. In the sequel Death Force, Geist unleashes a doomsday weapon: an indestructible cyborg army programmed to wipe out humanity (apparently he wants a challenge). He also finds himself in conflict with a former comrade, Krauser, who is a variant super soldier with a lust for power instead of carnage.

As sloppy and bad as I've heard of it, MD Geist stands as one of anime's classic duds. The story is very bare bones, basically being an excuse for its gory fights with Geist being a battle-loving jerkass and is very shallow as a character. Other than Geist, all the other characters are just as shallow in personality and only serve as either tools of the title's lackluster plot or meatbags for Geist to later kill off. With the anime entirely focused on depicting its battles, MD Geist is littered with plot holes in terms of explaining how things went on with its plot and setting. The anime is also notable for a nice number of animation and transition errors thanks to the makers of the anime being disorganized and led by an inexperienced, young director. Unless you are in the mood to see bad quality 80s anime, I strongly suggest avoiding MD Geist like the plague.

Even though the plot was kind of trite, the artwork was pretty tight. The story revolves around a war crazed super-soldier named Geist. MD Geist, or "Most Dangerous" Geist, was sent off into space in a containment cell because of his sadistic ways of fighting. After a while, that cell crashed back on to the planet releasing him and his sadistic ways. Not to mess around with the rest of the plot, it's quite cut and dry. What got me was the fact that Geist was more of a war monger than I thought. He would do anything and everything to keep fighting. If you're into plot twists, watch this title. I liked it because of it's artwork and animation. The designs of the battle suits were probably the best thing out of the entire series. Overall, watch it if you like futuristic types of anime. If you love violence, this is a major keep.

As most of you have probably heard, this anime sucks, even though Geist is a cool, hi-tech character that is used as US Manga's logo. This anime is ridiculously bloody, with very little story or redeeming qualities. I regret that I even bought it for $3.
