The original series (Weiß Kreuz) took place with our favourite assassins posing as florists and sneaking meaningful glances at each other. Ocassionally they cross-dressed to get closer to their victims (episodes one and six). Oh, and they angsted over the injustice of it all. It was great. ^__^

Now, after many CD dramas in which their lives got even worse and even angstier than before, they're back. The official summary reads:
"The setting is Koua Academy which bears Japan's future and nurtures its talent. With the exception of the things that happen in this elite school, its outward appearence is not said to be strange. However, there are an increasing number of suicide cases and almost no infomation is flowing to the public, which makes people wonder what lies beneath the surface. Aya infiltrates this academy by posing as a classroom teacher. His purpose is to make the connection between Koua Academy and frequent world-wide terrorist activity. And, Youji and Ken are also taking part in the mission."

I just rented this yesterday and have only watched it once. But I plan on watching it a couple more times before I return it. The first time I watch a Anime is to see what it is about. The second time I pay more attention to detail and character. This is a good one to watch. Not all flowers and there is some violence in it. But hey lets face it so is the world.

Buy 7 9 7 9 9 9 Ambriel [series:620#1357]
I seriously prefer the old character designs. When I saw the new designs, I almost didn't want to watch it. But it's WEISS KREUZ!! How can I not see the ending to it?! When I've seen everything before gluhen! Besides, I got use to their new looks, at least they didn't change seiyuu.
The music's still good, especially 'tomorrow'. The story was good too. How they brought EVERYONE together in the series in the end. I now have this love hate relationship with weiss kreuz coz of how it ended. Took me a couple of days to get over it. But then again you can't always have the 'happily ever after' theme. Ok, i shall not dig deeper into the ending, don't wanna spoil it for those of you who haven't seen it. All in all, it's still a good anime.

Buy 10 10 10 10 9 Ileenka [series:620#669]
Yes, I recommend a Buy, buy the First Season Weiss Kreuz too. The art and animation for this series is totally cool, there's more blood and gore and violence this time around, not to mention compassion and passion too. The character design, character development, have advanced much farther than the First Season, and I am very proud of its result. The music is cool too. The series story,in my opinion,is great in the sense that it shows that things are not always as simple as they seem, and things are always much more complicated than they look. That there are more things below the surface. There ARE some unexplained stuff, though, but good stories in my opinion, should leave some unexplained stuff for the imagination of the audience.
And..admittedly. I really dislike the way Weiss Kreuz Gluhen ended. i have felt so pulled into it, and i can just feel the pain of it all having to end this way. But nevertheless, getting a grip on myself, I give the entire series all the thumbs up i have. Which is 2. Which is a pity, because i don't have enough thumbs to go around. And after thinking over it, I think this is the best way to end the series for the kind of profession these guys have. And to properly 'end' this series, this is the best way to end it, i cannot ask for a happy ending, although i'm sure most fans like me will appreciate a happy ending more. but thinking over it.. this is what makes Weiss Kreuz Gluhen special. It made sure that i will REMEMBER this series, because it does not have a happy ending like most anime series. It made sure that I remember the characters, their fate, their destiny. And somehow or other, it reflects upon the world that we live in. Although in anime, however unrealistic or fantasy-driven entertainment they may be, this one shows, truly, part of the reality that we live in. Which makes, this series altogether a job well done.
