The ANN synopsis described "Yoshiko Tsushima, the school idol afflicted with chuunibyou (adolescent delusions of grandeur), as a fortune-telling girl", but That came as a surprise to me because I did not see any sign of such a thing in episode one. If so, this would not be the first anime in which the viewer is expected to somehow read the main character's mind and be amused by it. Instead, what I saw was a story apparently taking place in a world where magic and fairies and talking animals exist. Maybe episode two will make things clear, but I was not excited by episode one. The show sort of felt as if it was intended for children. It looks like after failing as a singer in the city, Yohane will form a sort of Idol group in her home town. And, after being initially discouraged, her ganbare spirit will prevail (though she isn't perfect, which makes her more likable). There was a decent laugh now and then, and I'm curious if this chuunibyou theme will really materialize. Maybe I will watch episode two, if there are not plentiful shows this season that take off right from the first episode. I did watch episode two, but wasn't exactly thrilled by it. There's still no mention of chuunibyou, though Yohane does do (or try to do) some fortune telling. We meet a number of additional characters, and they are largely likable and the show has a silly tone to it. But I was left with little idea where this plot was going and little desire to find out.
