Another I-am-reincarnated-in-a-video-game-like world-with-fantastic-magical-abilities show. It's easy to get by in an isekai world when you are a nobleman and can ignore the laws of physics and nature when they don't suit you, retain your memories from your past life, and have the Gods themselves backing you up. It's almost like you are a God yourself, which makes the story a sort of a daydream about what you'd do in such a situation. This show seemed very generic and predictable to me with nothing that was really surprising. The fact that Gods and Goddesses will be involved might be interesting. Cain needs some sort of weakness to compensate for his amazing strengths and make him interesting, but so far there's no sign of such a thing. As usual he does not do any serious thinking about what the implications of reincarnation and different sets of deities in different worlds might be, he just gets to work playing this new game. The show has a sort of wacky tone, though at times that seemed like it was expecting big laughs for small jokes. Cain decides he will become an adventurer when he grows up. Eh, I will probably watch another episode, in hopes that now that the premise has been established something unique might happen, but my hopes are not high. Episode two was tiresome. Cain's father hires a pair of female adventurers to tutor him, but his abilities are already vastly superior to anything they can do. He basically shows off again and again (though he doesn't mean to embarass them), because that's all he can do. If these incidents had been truly humorous I wouldn't have minded, but they aren't. This show seems very generic to me and I think I will quit. Last updated Thursday, April 27 2023. Created Saturday, April 08 2023. |
