Dead Heat
Featuring a ragtag group of mecha racers, Dead Heat features them meeting a mysterious man who gifts them with an experimental engine to use for improving their chances with an upcoming race. The half-hour run of this gives Dead Heat little breathing room for depth, but does have a few decent twists with its storytelling regarding the origins of the mystery man and an ending that isn't so typical compared to many titles focused on an underdog team. Would probably at least recommend old-school mecha anime fans give this a watch for a quick bout of entertainment, though its rewatchability is likely to be limited.
