Yuuhi Amamiya woke up one morning and found a talking lizard in his room. It claimed to be 'Sir Neu Crescent', a knight, and informed Amamiya that he, too, was a knight and was destined to defend a certain princess from an evil mage. And that the fate of the world itself was at stake. Amamiya wanted none of it, but as incredible things happen he cannot deny that something is going on here. It turns out that his next door neighbor, Asahina Samidare, is involved as well.

(Four episodes watched):

One definite way to grab the attention of viewers is to have something crazy happen right at the start of episode one, which is what happens here. It was amusing to watch Amamiya respond to the wild claims made by Sir Neu Crescent. With time that novelty seemed to wear off, however, and things got more conventional and even generic. I would much rather this show be primarily about the comedy of a guy who has been thrust into an unbelievable situation than the usual good vs. evil fighting story. Things got kind of novel again towards the end as several additional revelations are made, like the 'biscuit hammer' that is poised to smash planet earth itself unless prevented from doing so. It was not yet clear whether this show would try to be all that original, so I needed to watch some more.

I neglected to write anything down here about episode two--and when episode three came along, I realized I couldn't remember much of anything about it. Needless to say, it was less intriguing than episode one had been. Perhaps that is because we get no additional explanation of how in the world a giant hammer could be threatening earth. Who created it? Who is in control of it? What must be done to stop it from striking? Where did these 'Golums' come from? The story seems to wander off instead of addressing these nagging but critical questions. We get no answers in episode three either, as Amamiya instead needs to patch up his strained relationship with his grandfather. Let the makers be warned: this show is now in danger of being dropped from my viewing schedule altogether.

Amamiya has decided to support Samidare in her plan to destroy the world. Why, again, did she want to do that? And why does he agree? I'm pretty sure I would remember if a good answer had been provided to us. Another Knight has come along, this one with a dog as his animal aid. But I had lost interest in this show and decided to quit watching. Seeing that it was no less than 24 episodes long (and got terrible reviews at ANN) reassures me that I made the right call.
