In 2045, WWIII breaks out. A popular weapons system is the Tactical Doll, a mechanical life form that is virtually indistinguishable from a (female) human. After the war the T-Dolls of the major weapons manufacturer Sangvis Ferri refuse to lay down their arms and rebel against humanity. Griffin, a private military company, sends an AR team of four of it's own T-Dolls to try to ascertain the cause of the rebellion and put a stop to it.

The OP sequence has a stylized look that is not what one would expect from the generic fighting artificial girls show. The AR team (whose members seem to be named after the weapon they carry) seem to be unaware of the purpose of their mission; their handler is known as 'Persica'. Why are T-Dolls, which were meant to be soldiers, imitations of female humans? Don't ask stupid questions! The Sangvis T-Dolls dress in kinky costumes and the lower ranked ones are about as intelligent as insects. The higher-ups, like 'Agent', are gleefully evil. The action scenes leave a good deal to be desired. Lots of shooting, but the tactics are simplistic and unconvincing. The minor Sangvis dolls couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and are little more than targets for the Griffin girls. The ones like Agent have quadruple machine guns concealed under their skirts, but won't use them until they make a remark, by which time their targets have taken cover. I was daydreaming about how I would have filmed the scene if given the chance. The AR girls theorize that the Sangvis dolls are hacking into their own decision making process, but it hardly matters since the enemy is too dumb to make effective use of the data. The AR ('Anti-Rain', whatever that means) dolls long for 'a commander we can trust', I guess so that they won't be treated as expendable--shades of 86 (S1). The person they are looking for will probably be 'Gentiane', a purple-haired woman. But they didn't exactly endear themselves to me; they are tough fighters but otherwise don't seem to have much personality, even though they act more like humans than robots. Maybe if more had been done to emphasize just what bad things are likely to happen if Sangvis triumphs, I would have sympathized with them more. This show seems to have more of a plot than most fighting artificial girls shows, but still not all that much of one, and the characters are weak. Possibly the best thing about 86 is the wildly animated action scenes, but this show doesn't have action that is anywhere near as good, so what am I to watch for? I seem to remember that I did watch at least a little of episode two, but that was as far as things got.
