The first 25 minutes of Goblin's Crown is a summary of the original TV series, but the remaining hour is fresh material. One of the best things about the original TV series was that each episode played an obvious, necessary part in the skillfully designed ongoing plot. Here that's not really the case, so something is missing (the final scene, where Goblin Slayer and Priestess girl are talking sort of made a difference, however). I wish the blond adventurer girl had experienced a more meaningful compensation for the rape and trauma she underwent than just getting her sword back. It sort of seemed like she had only been included for the sake of fanservice. Perhaps one of the secrets to Goblin Slayer in general is that since goblins are disgusting, evil, non-human creatures, you can kill as many as you please, often in a grisly manner, without offending the audience too much. That approach definitely continues here. One thing that bugged me was that there's no way that the trick of jumping with a rope that was used to escape from the castle would have worked in real life. Also, it was hard to believe the team could waltz into this imposing castle then escape from it as easily as they did. So, this movie was fun, but not as good as the episodes of the TV series.
