Usakame (Five episodes watched): If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Usakame flatters Teekyuu very much, because it seems like an unabashed copy of it. From the high speed chatter between the characters (is there a name for this?) to the absurd things they do to even a tennis motif, one cannot avoid the conclusion that Usakame is an attempt to milk the success of the long-running Teekyuu series. It is, however, a fairly good copy; it was modestly amusing and the script of episode one of Usakame could have been used just as easily for a Teekyuu episode and hardly anybody would have noticed the difference. If I'm not crazy, episode five may even be a parody of Teekyuu. This show, to it's credit, seems to make less use of bouncing boobs. But it is very difficult and annoying to keep up with the subtitles that match high-speed chatter (it annihilates whatever timing the jokes had, for one thing), so I decided not to watch, even though each episode is a mere five minutes long.
