Yes, believe it or not this baby is from the 1920s and easily the oldest anime I've seen to date. Kobutori depicts a simple tale of two brothers with facial lumps living in feudal Japan and interacting with a group of sprites. The tale tells a simple moral with how the brothers interact differently with the sprites and are rewarded differently depending on their behavior. While easily outdated compared to modern animation and lacking voice acting, Kobutori still has an edge over American animation during the time period in that there is more detail put into its character designs while retaining a decent amount of movement. This is worth a look if you'd like to have a look at the earliest titles ever made with Japanese animation.
