To Aru Kagaku no Railgun S
Continuing from where Railgun left off, Railgun S mostly focuses around on the Sisters arc from Index via Mikoto's perspective where our heroine tries to halt a secret project being done by Academy City's dark side that involves the slaughtering of clones of her via esper Accelerator. With the focus on the arc being from Mikoto's point-of-view here, it packs more of an emotional punch here as we see her character's gradual breakdown from her futile efforts to halt the project before acquiring Touma's help and we get to learn of the origins of the project. These aspects were lacking in Index due to the title being more focused on developments of the situation from Touma's point-of-view, thus it lacked the intrigue and drama of seeing it through Mikoto's eyes. Following the Sisters arc, the final third of the series features an anime-only arc which rehashes some story elements of the Sisters arc yet is not as intriguing and dramatic as the Sisters arc. The series retains the excellent visuals and fluid animation from prior seasons of To Aru, so there isn't much I need to say in the presentation department here. Overall, Railgun S is mostly engaging thanks to seeing the Sisters arc via Mikoto's experiences, while your mileage may vary with the anime-only arc. It's still worth checking out if you're a To Aru fan.
