Mermaids, eh? I was immediately reminded of that other show--'Squid Girl', or something like that. People who liked that might like this, or vice-versa. Anyway, This show seems to have an absurdist tone to it; Takkun is pretty much unsurprised to haul in a mermaid, Muromi, who likes to snitch the worms he is using as bait and talks a lot. This seems to be a sort of half-length show, that is, about twelve minutes per episode. That's probably for the best: the jokes are fairly amusing but somehow I wouldn't want to sit through a full 23 minutes of this stuff at a time. The spastic energy might get annoying after awhile. It looks like a sort of mermaid harem will come together, but the show was tasteful and relies far more on humor than on fanservice to entertain us. As it is, Muromi-san looks to be a fun little show and I'll be watching.

Unfortunately, the novelty wears off before long and what's left isn't all that remarkable--again, much like Squid Girl. There doesn't seem to be any long-term plot and the comedy is modest. Muromi herself can get a little annoying. Even though the episodes of Muromi are about half the normal length, I still feel impatient for them to wrap up.
