Not really much you're missing out on with this movie addition to the Hayate no Gotoku! franchise. This felt more like an hour long episode of the series, only with mood stabilizer with the manic humor of the series greatly toned down, things getting somewhat serious with the presence of the spirit and a noticeable alteration to the drawing style with character designs looking quite rough in their details compared to the TV titles. The whole spirit story is rather subpar anyway as you don't learn very much about its motives until later in the movie and even then, it still reeks of this movie being slapped together for Manglobe to make a quick buck off fans of Hayate no Gotoku! If you did enjoy the two TV seasons of Hayate, there's no real need to watch this movie unless you are a completest for any anime title you come across.
