Yet another bishoujo dating sim spinoff, Uta no Prince-sama is rather clear in who it is aimed for with the rather obvious reverse harem that Nanami attracts with 6 attractive young men at the music school she is at. Nanami doesn't have much of a character to her as she mostly exists to have the six guys within the series be drawn to her in order to create the band they eventually become by the end of the series, and even the six mentioned guys don't have much to them beyond following your typical dating sim character types. Sure the characters are made to be quite attractive for the fangirls swooning for this series. But it doesn't do anything different from what other anime adaptations of dating sim games have done in recent years. Only worth watching if you are a diehard fan of bishoujo dating sims.

Unevaluated Stretch [series:2473#628]
(One episode watched):

This show is the story of a teenage girl’s dream come true: Haruka is accepted into an exciting and vibrant art academy, and what’s more immediately attracts a bevy of extremely hot (and sometimes extremely wealthy) guys to herself. Indeed, these guys are famous male Idol singers. This show has bishounen written all over it; the character designs are interesting, at least. But it feels kind of simplistic, as it relies on the eyecandy of sexy guys to ensure female viewers. It seems more like a too-good-to-be-true dream than a plausible story, and I wonder if any interesting plot will develop at all, since so far little has happened to Haruka other than her being luckier than her wildest dream. Let me guess: Haruka will wind up entangled with a quintet of dreamy guys in a male harem situation. It does make a halfway decent attempt to be funny, and Haruka seems like a nice girl. Perhaps ‘corny’ is the word I’m looking for to describe this episode. Being male, this show was clearly not made for me, so I will leave it here.
