Perhaps this entry at the ANN Cat God page is the key to the show's appeal: Objectionable content: None This is a fairly amusing show without any fanservice at all. The pace is a little manic, and a little familiarity with Japanese mythology would help. It isn't LOL funny, but is an innocent spirited comedy which does a decent job. Good enough for me. I liked episode three, in which the deities are called upon to help a mangakka complete a project within a deadline. This show has a pleasing goofy tone to it, the characters have some brains, and in general the tie-in between the divine and everyday modern Japan is amusing. All episodes are enjoyable but episode seven, involving a sort of sleepover at a temple, was especially good. At the end I could only say "That was fun. I like this show".
