(Rent-/ Watch+) This ONA series is pretty much a bunch of comedy shorts featuring the Haruhi Suzumiya franchise's characters mostly super-deformed and having some exaggerated traits to their characters such as Haruhi going over the top with her assumptions on holidays, Mikuru being quite clueless and Yuki being a dating sim game otaku. The comedy tended to be hit-or-miss for me at points throughout its run as some of the gags got me giggling or smiling while others had me feeling indifferent to things. This is mostly a treat for Haruhi Suzumiya fans, so those unfamiliar with the series may be lost on what gets mentioned at points with mentions of character abilities and origins. watching now... 1 ep watched... Ep 1: Well... That ep was a slap to the face. With all the hype and fan-support in the entire world, this is how they show us their gratitude? We get nothing but some pictures (still pictures by the way) of some boats and the ocean with the cool breeze and serenading music. That's it: nothing more, nothing less. That's alright though because we (the loyal fans) will continue to watch whatever they decide to "feed us" (LOL). That is the nature of this little game we're playing, isn't it? Let's hope they stop playing around and show us something worthy to see next time. Check out my award list to see some of the best anime titles in the world! Never forget Xenosaga. WHAT A CHEAP SHOT!!!! The first 45sec ONA episode was released ... and IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH Haruhi, Churuya or the SOS Brigade!! It is a just a 45sec snippet of sailing ships and ocean sunsets ..... but they did post a notice that "It was not ready". (Personally, I think that they are having fun messing with the SOS fans. Remember how the original series started off ... with that funky first episode.) OK .. they were pulling our leg... Melancholy of Haruhi-chan 00 is the 45second boat/sunset snippet. Melancholy of Haruhi-chan 01 is the 4:50min dream snippet that Astroboy refers to. Suzumiya Haruhi-chan no Yuuutsu 01 is the weird Churuya-san/smoked cheese snippet.
