I take it that you're not looking for a particular show that you saw or heard of once upon a time, but rather you think a show like this would be really neat? Actually, one show does spring to mind: Sukeban Deka

You mean 'Cody Banks' in anime form?
Hmmm...a challenge...
- Gatekeepers (More than 1 girl thoug, 5 and one boy)
- Sister Princess (But she is a lame secret agent)
- Sailor moon (But she doesn't work for the government)
- Full Metal Panic (NM, Sousuke is a guy)
- Buttobi CPU (But she is a robot, not a secret agent)
- Best Student Council (But not really secret Agent oriented)
- Cyborg 009 (She's not a highschooler)
That's all I can think of right now, I know there is one specific but I think it isn't much of a comedy.

I just remembered,
- Burn up Scramble (Rio works for a government in a government)
- And I remember now, Hyper Dolls....but you REALLY don't want to watch that POC.

Well now that you said GUNS, that centers it easier.
I still think Burn Up Scramble which Rio keeps her boss from finding out she works for a secret government. Has everything you asked for but high school.

Really, I think Sukeban Deka comes pretty close to the formula you described. Saki has indeed just been transfered to a new high school; She has a huge secret, she's actually working for the government (police, to be exact); she's not a professional secret agent, but rather a convict who has agreed to take on a dangerous mission--sort of like the Dirty Dozen. For the most part she's a loner who doesn't intend to make any friends, but can't help coming to like another girl and a guy. There's some comedy, not much romance, plenty of action (except Saki uses a killer yo-yo instead of a gun). You might want to check it out; I don't know if it has ever been released on DVD--I have it on two VHS tapes.

OK... I am glad you enjoyed Gokujou Seitokai... it is fun!
Now if I could suggest the follow other titles (which are all R1 licensed) -
and perhaps even... Full Metal Panic
I think that they are all good bets - certain to entertain you.

Full metal panic meets all of his critera but the main character is a guy. But it is extremely funny, tons of war stuff (robots, guns, secret government) and 2 really great girls (Kaname and Tessa)

Oops, it's got mecha. It's not mecha orientated like Gundamn but it's got Mecha.
Oooo I know, watch the sequel Fumoffu, no mecha in that and most of the girls are scantily clad.

Also don't forget Kashimashi. It's about a Guy who gets hit by a spaceship and is ressurected as a Girl with all the girlish problems including a best friend who is trying to hit on him/her.

I recently recieved an e-mail from Susan Sommer:
"Hello. I was looking for a particular anime movie when I came upon your site. The reason I need some assistance is that I am looking for a film that I saw on a local cable channel almost 25 years ago. I don't even know the title, I just remember the ending. The film in question was a battleship Yamato-type film (and it wasn't one of those--I've checked). Are there any sites I can use to narrow my search a bit more?"
I've never watched any Battleship Yamato films or TV series, so all I could do was suggest that she check out http://www.animecritic.com/_metareview/. Does anyone have any advice for Susan?
I didn't think it would be a good idea to post her e-mail address without her permission, but I have it if anyone has any ideas.
