[2006-12-24, Devil Doll]:
What a wonderful Christmas present this episode was for me! This is the old K2 spirit, with the stories making progress on many fronts in parallel... looks like the story writer is making up for the lost time during the Makoto arc. The OP sequence revealed who the "dream girl" is supposed to be; we now know Shiori's last name, and the butoukai was a great show, with Kitagawa playing Elvis and Mai having a natural knack for complex movements (being a swordswoman after all!). Plus we've seen that angel doll for the first time (with Nayuki having to pay the bill, what a nice symbolism; she's the loser of this episode anyway, judging by that breakfast scene). More Ayu weirdness, about her school this time - but it's too early to pose the real questions here. (Just how much does Akiko-san know about Ayu, I wonder?)
Those demons were still not that visible. Then again, how far were Mai and Sajuri apart from each other when Sajuri was hit? What's the chance of any witness (except for Yuuichi whom Kuze won't listen to for sure) being able to tell the school officials about this observation? The glass was broken long before Mai took out her sword... well, the whole story would change if anyone believed the "usual suspect" this time. Anyway, the part of K6 I was having the highest hopes for has begun!

Stretch:
Listening to the witty banter between Yuuichi and Mai at the dance made me exclaim to myself "How do they (the writers/creators of this show)do that?!" It's so far above the usual dialogue you get in TV series. The scene of them dancing was surprisingly well animated as well. I was only kidding about a demon "crashing" the party, but what do you know...

AstroNerdBoy (03 January 2007):

This episode moves along at a somewhat faster pace than previous ones. Having Shiori's family name revealed and Kaori's denial of having a sister is good for that story-arc. The extended flashback of Yuukich and Ayu as children was rather nice. But of course, the big thing was Mai at the dance, her dance with Yuuichi, the demon attack, and her battle with "it."
