As Hayama leaves for school one morning, he finds Fuka waiting to walk with him. She reminds him of the time he said "I don't think it's kindness to be nice to a person you don't like". "So", she says, "please don't be nice to me anymore. The one person you have to be nice to is not me". Naozumi visits Sana at home and explains that he knows why she couldn't read the "devil" line in their TV show script (which got her fired). He has concluded that she still loves Hayama. Sana denies that what she feels for Hayama is love, but Naozumi says "Let's break up... but I will always love you, Sana-chan". At school, Sana notices Hayama is behaving oddly, and asks Fuka what's going on with him. Fuka tells her they've broken up, which Sana assumes must be a joke. Fuka gets angry--"I can't believe you really don't get it!". Family maid Shimura asks Sana if she plans to hold a "middle birthday" party this year, just like last--she doesn't. Misako asks what happened between Sana and Naozumi, and has ways of making Sana talk. Sana starts to wonder if Naozumi was right and she really does still love Hayama, and how so much can have happened in the space of a year. Christmas eve celebrations are muted this year--Tsuyoshi and Aya will hold a small party, otherwise everyone will remain at home with their families. About Sana and the scandal she's involved in, Hayama muses "Suddenly dropping out of the drama, that's so unlike her... I don't get it!". On Christmas Eve Naozumi is holding a press conference and mentions that the drama will premiere tonight. Afterwards he has a phone call to make... |
