At first, I thought that the things these girls talk about were neither funny nor interesting, but with time episode one of this show grew on me. Wada and Yamamoto discuss everything from social media (Wada is addicted to it, Yamamoto doesn't care for it) to Peruvian Nazca Lines. There was at least one good joke, namely Wada's remark when she learns what social media allergic Yamamoto has been doing with her I-phone. I guess these two characters couldn't help but build personalities as they discuss things like how much a person should conform and how much they should be themself. We learn that Yamamoto has a part-time job nearby and is intrigued by America, while Wada seems to be a timid girl who tends to complain. At the end of the episode I felt I had gotten to know them fairly well and was curious about them. Early on I was going to write this show off, but at the end I was sort of looking forward to episode two. Episode two was not hilarious but was OK. The topics that came up in the four little sketches that together comprise the episode included Wada's irrational obsession with a guy named 'Abel', her dissing of a girl who supposedly has the face of a gorilla, and eating spicy food. Kentucky Fried Chicken and Baskin-Robins ice cream seem to be mainstays of Japanese food courts. Last updated Thursday, August 07 2025. Created Wednesday, July 16 2025. |
