Childhood friends Nico Wakatsuki and Morihito 'Moi' Itogi were separated in the fourth grade when Nico went off to train as a Witch (which are supposed to use their magic to help people). Now Nico is back and without his knowledge Moi's parents have given her permission to stay in their house while they are on a lengthy business trip. Being the product of mixed human-ogre ancestry, Moi has done some training of his own and will serve as her familiar. But he learns that there is a prophecy that disaster will soon strike Nico, and he is the only one who can prevent it.

This show had a sort of goofy, outlandish, even childish sort of humor which didn't make me laugh much and didn't agree with me. Nico is a goof-off, inexperienced and clumsy with her magic (she arrives by riding her broom through a glass window). Familiars are usually seen as completely subordinate to a Witch, but Moi (Nico cannot pronounce his name correctly) is super strong thanks to his ogre blood and will apparently get her out of the problems she gets herself into. I had thought that this show was going to be 100% comedy until the curse on Nico was revealed at the end of the episode. But I found that with the two main characters having simple personalities apparently designed of 4-koma quality comics, I couldn't get particularly uptight about what will become of her. I have only watched one episode, but I wish the characters were more complex and interesting rather than one being simple-minded and goofy and the other being simple-minded and serious. And of course it would help if the jokes were more sophisticated and funnier. With things as they seem to be, I think I will skip this show.
