If you were required to write a lengthy story about an ordinary guy who finds himself sharing his apartment with an angel, what sort of plot elements would you include? I would think that it would be imperative to make clear that this is indeed an angel, not just another cute girl. That she knows many, many mind-blowing things that we humans do not. But that's not the approach that the author of One Room- took. He(?) made Towa about as naive and gullible as possible, more like the ideal human girlfriend than a deity. The sort of girl who would be helpless without you, so you can think that you are in fact superior to her in a way. She is so easy to please. And while you definitely should not boink an angel, you can leer at her at will and, being as pure and innocent as she is, she has no idea what you are thinking. You can see where things are going when a shocked Shintaro spills some milk on Towa and she needs to take a shower. This show was seeming very formulaic and predictable right from the start, and not funny at all either. The only (weak) laugh I got out of episode one was when a stranger wonders if Towa is some sort of Gothic Lolita character. Towa being an angel seems like nothing more than yet another excuse to have a hot girl living with you. This was all seeming so simplistic that I couldn't imagine any sort of interesting relationship developing between Shintaro and Towa. The thought occurred to me, 'Is this really worth 23 minutes of my precious time?', and the answer was no.
