Fuko Izumo is subject to some sort of curse which causes anyone who touches her to experience extreme--sometimes lethal--bad luck. It killed her own parents. Unable to interact safely with anyone, she is tempted to commit suicide. But what seems like a curse to her seems like a blessing to 'Andy', who is an immortal undead who is tired of living a very, very long life (a tattoo suggests he was born in 1865) and is thrilled at the chance of someone who might finally put him out of his misery. This is the story of their quest for the greatest death ever.

I had never even heard of this show til it was mentioned in an ANN column about the critics choices for the best anime of the closing Winter 2024 season. And it seems it was actually a two-season long series from the Fall 2023 season. The premise is amusing--two people with bizarre curses which make them perfect matches for each other, even if Andy initially rubs Fuko the wrong way. It sounds like they will keep trying to find ways to either kill themselves or break their curses, and keep failing. Episode one was weird and wild but I didn't really LOL all that much. That being the case, some sort of plot will definitely be necessary, not just the same hijinks again and again and again (for two seasons), and so far I haven't noticed any signs that the plot will get much more complex than that which is set out in the basic premise.
