Yuji Sano works at a company that is harsh on its employees. After bringing some overtime work back home, he gets a message on his computer: "You have been summoned to an alternate world." It is a game-like world, complete with status bars and skills. Yuji tames a slime monster and thus becomes a tamer. Then, he suddenly attains a second profession — sage — and awakens magical powers within himself. Yuji's alternate world adventure begins when he follows a slime, that seemingly weakest of all monsters.

(One episode watched):

This was one of those shows for which I needed to copy the ANN synopsis to create this page, because I still had little or no idea what the basic premise was at the end of the first episode. The only hint of it was a brief scene of Yuji at work in an office. Episode one is basically a big battle against frightening monsters (they reminded me of the ones from Aliens), which demonstrates that this Yuji guy has amazing magical powers and can totally kick ass with them. But all things considered, it seemed remarkably dull to me. The animation and music were nothing special, and mysterious guys who are (literally) too good to believe when it comes to magic are dime a dozen. We get little idea of Yuji's personality. There was nothing novel about this and it seemed very underwhelming. You would almost think the makers were trying to make this show as generic and unremarkable as possible. The light blue slimes which speak like children annoyed me considerably. Basically, nothing about this show appealed to me and I was left almost astonished at what a flop it had been. However, learning what the actual premise is has led me to think that maybe I should watch episode two after all. I think it was a big mistake to think it could be saved for episode two or later, and it probably won't save this show. There has already been a show about an isekai charcter who works with slimes, and it seemed a lot better than this one. But I can't help being curious.
