Following up from Dawn of the Deep Soul, this second TV season of Made in Abyss explores the descent of Riko's group into the sixth layer of the Abyss where they encounter a village of Narehate. This encounter leads more to be fleshed out about the origins of how Narehate came about, in particular its connection to a group of human Delvers who had ventured into the sixth layer years earlier. It also provides some hints to Reg's past when it's revealed he had encountered one of those said Narehate, Faputa, who is worshiped as a sort of princess among the Narehate villagers and whom bares some sort of grudge against it. Like the prior two installments of Made in Abyss, this second TV season isn't afraid to get tragic and horrifying to show the consequences that are in store for those who venture further into the Abyss in spite of its beauty and gets just as grisly with its graphic violent content as a result of this. With the manga for the series still ongoing, this season does leave things with its story open-ended with Riko and her friends continuing with their adventure through the Abyss. Still if you've been a fan of Made in Abyss up to this point, this second season is a definite recommendation to continue the title's story of Riko's journey through the Abyss.
