The Great Jahy, a female demon who was once 'the Dark Lord's right hand', and the second highest ranking person in the Dark Realm, has experienced a bit of a humiliation. After being defeated by an unknown blond magical girl she finds herself stripped of almost all of her magical powers and cast into the human realm--namely, modern-day Japan. Her loss of almost all of her mana has resulted in her taking the appearance of a child (though she can briefly resume her original form). Jahy, once 'feared and revered by all', finds herself struggling just to keep herself fed and keep a roof above her head.

Well, an amusing premise, but as is all too often the case, this show is not particularly funny. I think I got a total of one laugh when it was revealed what Jahy uses her ability to temporarily resume her adult form for. I got the feeling that this show was just funny enough for people with low standards when it comes to humor, and mine are fairly high. With the comedy being inadequate to carry the show all by itself, an interesting plot is needed. But I didn't sense one coming together; Jahy's situation is explained, but there were no signs of any seriousness in this series, which suggests it will be all about simple, dumb jokes without much else. Surely Jahy will re-encounter the magical girl who defeated her at some point, won't she? But if she does, it looks like the situation will be no more gripping than any other scene of this anime. Jahy's employer accepts her honest explanation of what has become of her without a hint of disbelief or surprise; you would think that she would either be incredulous or her gullibility would be used as a major joke, but it seems like neither. Jahy's arguments with her landlord (who happens to be her boss' sister) soon became tiresome. It looks like several additional characters will come along with time, but based on what I had already seen I wasn't left feeling curious about them. It quickly became clear than fanservice would play a large part, what with all the buxom women and the juvenile Jahy wearing a t-shirt that is just long enough to cover her crotch. For some reason this show apparently did not premiere until July 31, which is why I hadn't heard of it until August 20. But if I had never heard of it at all, the end result would have been about the same.
