The popularity of soccer is in decline in Japan and passionate players are having a hard time finding ways to do their best. White haired Sumire Suo was about the only really good player on her middle school team, which greatly limited what she could achieve. She agrees with a former rival from another school that they will enroll in the same high school and create a really excellent team for once.

(One episode watched):

Well, episode one of this show failed to excite me. The character designs are rather simplistic, considering what a large cast this show has. There's no way I will be able to remember the countless names and faces of people who for the most part haven't done anything memorable yet. Even the main characters didn't seem all that interesting to me. They don't seem to have any skeletons in their closets, their only problem is that they've been on lousy teams where they cannot shine. After one episode I still don't know them well enough to care if they ever do. I can't help thinking about the 2.43 series about volleyball whose season one concluded a few weeks ago; that show managed to intrigue me right from the first episode while this one hasn't. Perhaps what we have here is the cliche show which has made the mistake of being more about the sport than the characters, when no dramatic series can afford to do that. There was plenty of skillful footwork (though the animation isn't fancy enough to fully express it), but the characters themselves never reached out to me. Just who or what 'Cramer' is remains a mystery at this point. I was frankly glad when the closing credits arrived.
