B: The Beginning Succession
This felt like a step down from the first season of B. Koku finds himself forced into a plot by the surprise return of his childhood friend, Kirisame, being part of a secret organization plotting an as of yet unknown plot with the monarchs of the kingdom. The major issue with this season is that it has yet to reveal its full intentions with its bigger story involving Kirisame and his group, leaving things largely unexplored with their characters and motives. The larger focus on Koku's conflict with Kirisame's group also largely leaves Keith Flick, Lily, and the other officers of RIU irrelevant for the majority of the season, including seemingly undoing some of the developments of Keith's character just to fill time for an episode in the middle of this season's run. Even so, the series ends inconclusively at an apparent major point within the conflict and does lead this season to be rather frustrating to see as a result. Assuming we even get a third season of B: The Beginning at some point, it would take a significant improvement in the quality of its story developments to make up for how underwhelming this one was.
