The bit about Ernesti actually being the reincarnation of a real world software designer briefly intrigued me, but as is all too often the case, it seems that not much is going to be done with this intriguing twist. It just gives him talent to use piloting and customizing the fantasy mecha in his new life, that's all. He won't muse about where he got the skills that he was born with, or why he occasionally has strange memories, or feel at all troubled by them--in short, his personality will remain rather shallow. The story seems rather shallow as well: this is a world where good guys who try hard will always win, i.e, an unrealistic and simplistic one. This show almost seems to have been made for children, since the message behind it seems to be that children can do just as well as any adult if they really put their minds to it. Just a dream come true scenario in which a twelve year old can pilot a mecha, slaughter evil creatures, and be praised by adults. Not a terrible show by any means, but definitely not an outstanding one either.
