The Yatterman took control of the Dorombo Gang after a long fight, but the Yatterman Kingdom they created is not at peace. The kingdom is impoverished, and the people lament their tyrannical government. Standing against them is Leopard, a descendent of Yatterman's defeated rivals. She inherits the name Doronjo and becomes her successor, entering the Yatterman Kingdom with the intent of taken on the despised Yatterman.

Yoru no Yatterman
It appears Yatterman Nights functions as a sort of sequel to another of Tatsunoko's costumed hero titles focusing on descendants of the villains found within that series. As an action-comedy, Yatterman Nights didn't do much to engage me, probably because I haven't been too exposed to many of Tatsunoko's costumed hero titles like Gatchaman and Casshern, though I did get some snickering out of the Speed Racer nod used as comical fodder for one of the middle epsodes. Otherwise unless you're a big Tatsunoko fan, this series will be lost to those not among the Yatterman franchise's fanbase.
