(One episode watched):

In Japan, swords are sometimes seen as mystical objects with minds of their own--something like 'I didn't kill that guy, my sword forced me to thrust it into his body'. So the premise of TRH isn't complete nonsense. But it might as well have been, because this was a completely uninspiring show to me. It seemed as if it couldn't make up it's mind whether it was going to be serious or a comedy, and as a result wasn't very good at either. I found myself wondering whether or not to take it seriously, and had little idea of what was going on. Why were the HRA fighters bizarre crosses between zombies and the Incredible Hulk? No explanation is offered, and neither are the jokes very good. I don't really dislike this show, it just leaves me completely unmoved. It has a novel premise, which has potential, but the signs are that the potential will go largely unrealized. Perhaps if there had been some sort of skillfully handled mystery rather than just a lack of data, or a sense that something important is at risk due to the depredations of the HRA, I might have gotten into this show, but such things never happened. Episode one was so milquetoast that I doubt if succeeding episodes will be any better. So, like countless other anime, it has neither an interesting story nor laugh-worthy jokes.
