(Three episodes watched):

If there is one series this season that I would love to see be a major hit, it would have to be Milky Holmes 2. The lovable, goofy, kawaii girls of this show seem to deserve success more than any other characters, in part because they live in poverty and partly because they have never heard of the concept of sex. The problem is that this show just isn't all that funny. There are lots of simple, 'smile' jokes, but the only serious laugh I got out of episode one was from when their transformation sequence went wrong. Also, the narcissistic antics of the character 'Twenty' make me cringe and cancel out a lot of the entertainment value that this show has managed to scrape together. I prayed that succeeding episodes would have some more wit and originality to them, but that doesn't seem to be the case. There is just a painful feeling that whoever screenwrote this show didn't have a clue regarding what would make the average person laugh. What was the deal with the story about the guy who had been seperated from his lover by a whale (IIRC)? It was absurd but not all that funny. MH II is totally hit-or-miss, but seldom scores a hit, and never a bullseye. As much as I liked the main characters, I reluctantly abandoned this show after three (I think) episodes.
