Watch 8 8 8 6 6 7 Dreamer [series:2384#2279]
This series gives us some truely interesting characters. A die-hard masochist lead role, a loli-looking sadist, a fist-crazy androphobic girl and a cross-dressing guy. Sounds like a recipe for some insane laughter? Well....

Art, Animation & Character Designs
Artwork and animation was pretty well done actually. The details were good, colors were rich and animation was smooth. Character designs were equally as good and the girls were kawaii.

Music
Just couldn't stand the OP. Horrible pop piece with little girl voices. Just not my style. The soundtrack had some piano pieces here and there... mostly cheesy sounding but worked well for the cheesy scenes it was playing on. The ED was just as horrible as the OP. Yuck.

Series and Episode Story
I struggled through this one. The premise of the plot was definitely different... waaay different from the norm. You'd think that would be a "good" thing however, it was anything but. This series hardly held my interest. It's not because of all the "oddities" about this series, but simply that this series story didn't go beyond that. The plot is purely based around a monotonous "beating", which got old really quick. With such oddities for characters, the plot could have been much better.

Overall, it was barely a watch. There were some funny moments and antics and that's the only thing that kept me watching it through to the end.

Unevaluated Stretch [series:2384#628]
(Preview and two episodes watched):

"Let me show you intense pain that'll kill you and awaken your instinct of self-preservation!" Lines like that, plus slapping, punching, perversion--but no sign of witty humor--leave me with low expectations for this show. Trying to squeeze some amusement out of the ugly habit of masochism (if I understood this trailer right) doesn't exactly appeal to me. Apparently the main female character is a Goddess of some sort, which isn't exactly original. I will watch an episode or two, to see if my first impressions were accurate, but I've got a feeling that that will be as far as I go.

Well, I have watched episode one, and it looks like my first impression was spot-on. This looks like a sleazy, obnoxious show in the class of Kanokon or KissxSis. It seemed ugly, disgusting, not funny at all, and had minimal anime values. How could such a premise be any good at all? Taro is pathetic and what's-her-name is a sadistic bitch. If she's really a Goddess, she must be the Goddess of Cruelty. God, this show is f---ed up in a bad way. The only hint of quality was the surprise identity of Taro's crush. But in general, this show had cheesy quality that would not justify the time it would take to watch it.

...so naturally I watched another episode. I got pretty much the same conclusions: a shallow, unrealistic plot (I doubt if one slap could cause a person to 'snap' instantaneously into masochism mode), brutality substituting for humor, and not partcularly likeable characters. Don't expect me to feel sorry for Taro's girlfriend (or whatever) now that she has revealed her own problem, since she has such a two-dimensional personality (and her problem seems to have been 'lifted' virtually unaltered from another recent show). And Taro's sister and mother both get a kick out of sleeping beside him and being inadvertantly fondled? MM! just seems like a poor man's anime, which makes a minimal amount of effort to be just barely watchable by undemanding viewers. But I've got better things to do with my time, so I have finally quit watching.
