Negima question

I know that Mahou Sensei Negima!: Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba is the latest series of the Negima franchise. The thing I wanted to know is was the prior story (which was after the first series and before this one) ever created as an anime or was it a complete jump to this new one?

Ya might have to wait for ANB to appear - as he is our resident expert on this series.

But from what I understand there is a jump in the story (from both of the Negima series), which skipped over a number of chapters and events in the manga, to bring us up to this ova - Ala Alba

I watched it.

It's a complete jump.

Series One (Xebec) was true to the manga except for the last 3 episodes. (And quits in Volume 5 I think)

Series Two (Shaft) was completely different after episode 3.

OVA 2 - Ala Alba (Shaft) uses the Manga canon and occurs right after volume 20 (Which ends the Mahora Festival).

I guess since the Manga is so far ahead they want to start it fresh near the current end.
