Photon - 2: The New Bride Keyne

Title:Photon
Episode:2: The New Bride Keyne
Synopsis
Though initially not happy to be caught in the nude by a small boy, the mysterious girl aboard the crashed spaceship calms down when she notices that both she and the boy carry the same crest on their foreheads (Photon carelessly drew it on her before she awakened). She identifies herself as Keyne Aqua, and gets a damage report from her cute little animal/pilot/computer Koro. Meanwhile, Papacha is en route to the planet (Earth?) on which Keyne crashed, in order to force her to "show me a power that surpasses brain crystal". Koro tells Keyne that the Brain Crystal landed seperately from the ship, and also that the "Aho Network" is being hacked--not good. She and Photon set off in a hovercraft to recover the crystal. Aun finally finds Laman's residence, only to learn that she's not exactly likely to become his bride. She wishes upon a shooting star for a new boyfriend, and later runs into Papacha, who seems quite handsome to her. She leads him and his "Pochis" to a nearby town where someone might recognize Keyne. Indeed, the town is all abuzz about the beautiful girl who had no idea what the word on her forehead meant, and her boy companion. Aun puts two and two together and realizes the boy was Photon. Furthermore, one of the Pochis tells her that on Keyne's planet a man drawing his crest on a woman's forehead carries great significance...

This show is turning out to have a much more complex plot than I'd expected, given the lackluster ratings it got here at Mikomi. Of course, whether it will really go anywhere is another question. Still, I'm an aficionado of risque humor, which this show contains a good deal of, so I'm satisfied. I think this story is taking place on Earth (I thought I recognized the shape of Europe as one of the spacecraft buzzed the planet). The parallel between Koro and Ryo-Ohki is only too obvious--both shows came from the same makers, after all.
